Class of 2020: Brittany Royes
Brittany Royes, daughter of Joy Royes-Page, wrote this update about her graduation:
“After 4 very long years, 9 semesters, and 138 credits later I am so excited to say I am a University of Pittsburgh Alumna!!! I am graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, minors in Chemistry & Chinese, and certificates in Asian Studies & Conceptual Foundations of Medicine.
In just 4 years I’ve wanted to transfer, been hazed, studied abroad, and graduated during a pandemic. I’ve also discovered a sport and a team that fills me with joy and made lifelong friends that I consider to be family. I’m so grateful to my school, professors, mentors, friends, family and everyone that helped me get to this point because it takes a village. We finished this BA! Now we just have a MS and a MD to go. Pitt was the best place I could’ve been but now it’s time for bigger and better things, but it’s always going to be…”
Brittany is the daughter of Joy Royes-Page, granddaughter of Charles Huntley and Joyce Royes, and was a recipient of the Royes Family Educational scholarship in 2017.
