Bryan Washington wins another prize!

Bryan Washington, son of Arlene & Gary Washington and grandson of Edgar Royes, from the line of Adolphus Royes has won another award for Lot! He has been awarded the Dylan Thomas Prize, a leading prize for young writers presented annually.

Bryan is a National Book Award 5 Under 35 honouree and the author of the collection, Lot, and the forthcoming novel, Memorial. He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, BuzzFeed, Vulture, The Paris Review, Tin House, One Story, Bon Appétit, GQ, The Awl, and Catapult. 

The prize, named in honour of the Welsh writer and poet Dylan Thomas, brings international prestige and a remuneration of £30,000 (~$46,000). It is open to published writers in the English language under the age of forty.  Entries for the prize are submitted by the publisher, editor, or agent; for theatre plays and screenplays, by the producer.
